A message from our 2014 Campaign Chair
To all Central Virginia Federal and Military colleagues:
It is my honor to serve as Campaign Chair for the 2014 Central Virginia Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Since the CFC was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, our mission has been to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for everyone. “Opportunity” is the best possible word to describe your participation in the 2014 CFC Campaign: An opportunity for “Serving our Country, Serving our Community.”
Year after year, Federal employees make the CFC the largest and most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world. There are a number of important reasons for this success, starting with you. Thanks to your participation, the CFC has allowed us to connect with each other as we work toward a greater good; offering helping hands to our neighbors in need. Another reason for CFC’s success is that it offers us the opportunity to make steady monthly donations to our favorite charities, providing consistent, reliable support all year long, and increasing the effectiveness of both our generosity and our commitment to better, healthier communities.
One of the most inspiring things about the CFC and the level of participation it generates within our Federal community is that, even in years when things haven’t been so great for ourselves, we’ve never failed in our mission. The CFC continues to stand as an open gateway for our Federal community to give hope and help to people who are less fortunate.
Please be assured that your giving matters more than ever! There are countless children, families, and individuals who will be helped by the charitable organizations you support. There are animals that will live in healthier habitats or become adopted pets for loving families. There are medical discoveries to be made, and lives to be made healthier. Our neighbors will gladly tell you about the difference your commitment to caring has made in their lives.
Please join me again this year as we, through the 2014 Combined Federal Campaign, commit to making a difference by “Serving our Country, Serving our Community.”
Thank you for your generous support!
